Two-year-old Lathyros finishes a promising third in the Group 3 Artemis Stakes in Tokyo.

On Saturday, 28 October, on the Tokyo racecourse in Japan, the Shadai Farm graduate Lathyros finished third in the Group 3 Artemis Stakes after making a courageous effort in the final straight. Trained by Tomokazu Takano, this two-year-old filly is by Japanese leading stallion Deep Impact.

Lathyros’ dam Sweet Hearth was a Group 1 contender in France where she was ridden by Gérald Mossé. In 2009, she lifted the Listed Prix de la Cochère before finishing second in the Group 1 Prix de la Forêt where she beat the great champion Goldikova into third place by half a length. At that point, I.T.C. was managing the career of Sweet Hearth for her Italian owner, the company Investimenti Immobiliari Ri.Ma, in close collaboration with her trainer Alain de Royer-Dupré.
