The son of Oasis Dream was bought as a 2yo by our bloodstock agency ITC

AL TARIQ rewarded the patience of his connections with a hard-fought victory in Listed company on Friday February 5th at Jebel Ali Racecourse, defeating Doug Watson-trained stablemate Fanaar in the five-furlong straight-course affair. Ridden with confidence by Pat Dobbs to a final time of 59.23 seconds, the 5-year-old French-bred gelded son of Oasis Dream won for the first time from three tries in the UAE. After undergoing a setback earlier in the season, the bay charge has shown marked improvement over the past month of training and displayed flashing strong pace throughout.

Al Tariq was purchased by Haras de Gouffern’s commercial arm, ITC (International Thoroughbred Consultants), at the 2018 ARQANA Breeze Up Sale on behalf of the Saudi owner Sheikh Abdallah Al Maddah. In the care of Pia Brandt, he won once and was placed in three occasions. As a juvenile, he also took part in the Gr.3 Prix des Chênes at Paris Longchamp. By the end of 2019, Al Tariq changed hands and was exported to UAE.

Congratulations to his owner Abdul Mohsen Al Abdul Kareem, his trainer Doug Watson, his jockey Pat Dobbs and all involved.
