Fazza Al Khalediah only beaten a nose in the Dubai Kahayla Classic

Last Saturday, the flamboyant Meydan racecourse played host to the Dubai World Cup night, high point of the Dubai racing season. At the opening of the meeting, 14 Purebred Arabian horses lined up in the Dubai Kahayla Classic (Gr.1 PA), one of the best races in the world dedicated to Arabian horses. The 2019 renewal of the Kahayla Classic will be remembered as one of the most epic in the history of that race. The subsequent winner AF Maher (UAE) took the lead in a very strong pace. In the home stretch, AF Maher and Fazza Al Khalediah (FR) stepped into a fierce battle until the winning post. With 300 m to go, AF Maher lost his advantage but he fought back and slowly got the better and landed the prestigious Purebred Arabian classic, defeating Fazza Al Khalediah by a nose.

Fazza Al Khalediah’s performance shows once more his quality and versatility. Last Autumn, Mr Borkowski trainee shone over the turf tracks of ParisLongchamp, when capturing the Qatar Arabian World Cup (Gr.1 PA), and Abu Dhabi, when finishing 2nd in the Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan Jewel Crown (Gr.1 PA). This winter, he proved also good over dirt by running 2nd both in the Prince Sultan World Cup in Saudi Arabia, and the Kahayla Classic in Dubai.

Fazza Al Kahlediah was born and raised in Haras de Gouffern on behalf of Al Khalediah Stables. His dam Assma Al Khalediah was then mated to Jalnar Al Khalidiah. The baton is now being taken up by 2yo colt Mayar Al Khalediah and a recently born colt foal. Both are by triple Gr.1 PA winner Nashwan Al Khalidiah, a proven sire standing at Gouffern.
