Fazza Al Khalediah and Mashhur Al Khalediah performed in the most prestigious Gr.1 PA

The International Federation of Arabian Horse Racing Authorities (IFAHR) has delivered the International Classification of Purebred Arabian racehorses for 2019. With a rating of 125, FAZZA AL KHALEDIAH is the third highest rated horse in 2019, behind multiple Gr.1 PA winner Ebraz and 2019 Dubai Kahayla Classic hero AF Maher. Born and bred at Haras de Gouffern, Fazza Al Khalediah was placed 2nd in the three most prominent races during the 2018/2019 winter season in Middle East: the Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan Jewel Crown (Gr.1 PA) at Abu Dhabi, the Prince Sultan World Cup in Saudi Arabia and the Dubai Kahayla Classic (Gr.1 PA) at Meydan.

Another Gouffern homebred horse distinguished himself among the top 10 horses. Rated 121, MASHHUR AL KHALEDIAH ran six times and recorded four wins in 2019. In between July and September, the Athbah-owned colt landed a Gr.3 PA in Ostend and a Listed race in Baden-Baden over a mile before running a close 3rd in the Gr.1 PA Qatar Arabian World Cup over 10f, on the Gr.1 Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe day at ParisLongchamp. In November, at Abu Dhabi, the son of Jalnar Al Khalidiah recorded the best performance of his career and prevailed in the Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan Jewel Crown (Gr.1 PA).

On Saturday February 29th, on Riyadh racecourse, Mashhur Al Khalediah finished 3rd in the inaugural Obaiya Cup, now the richest event in the Purebred Arabian racing world with prize-money of $1,900,000. The distance of 10 furlongs is far too long for him but Mashhur proved once more to be a tough and generous horse.
